Today's card is the impressive Explosion Card. My most favourite card that I have made is a TARDIS (as in Doctor Who) Explosion Card that I made for my son-in-law. I blogged that one, so you can go and check it out: TARDIS Card. I was so excited by the fact that, as with the actual TARDIS, it is bigger on the inside. I didn't provide the full instructions then, so I'll do that this time. These cards measure 5" x 5" on the outside, but almost 10" x 10" on the inside. Such a cool effect.

How to Make This Card
1. Cut cardstock 10" x 5", score at 5" for the card base.
2. Cut large DSP 9¾” x 9¾”.
3. Fold DSP in half from top to bottom.
4. Open it and fold the sheet diagonally.5. Open it and fold along the other diagonal.
6. Open the sheet and push the grey areas of the sheet together along the horizontal fold (you are reversing this fold).
7. The sheet should now look like this:
9. Open the wings and push them toward the centre along the diagonal fold, reversing the folds as you push in (this is the trickiest part of the fold).
10. Your sheet should look like this. Turn it over and repeat steps 8 and 9.11. When folded and flat, you're sheet should look like this.
12. If you hold the point of the triangle and look inside, it should look like this.
13. Place adhesive along the edges of the top side of the map fold insert. Open up the card base, place the insert inside the card with the tip of he triangle in the fold of the card and centred side to side.
15. Close the card to adhere the insert. Turn the card over and repeat.
16. Check to make sure which way is up, then cut the small piece of DSP 4¾” x 4¾” and adhere it to the front of the card along with any images or sentiments. You can add a mat between the card and the card front if you wish.
17. Cut a piece of white or light cardstock 2½” x 3¾” and adhere inside the card so you have somewhere to write a greeting.
Well, I've made it to the end of Week 1 of my Card Challenge. It's been full-on but I'm really enjoying reviving some of these cards.
Back tomorrow!
Happy crafting.
