Our craft group is on a break right now, but I wanted to share a 'thing' with you. It's probably best described as a toy - my granddaughter calls it a cake, for obvious reasons.
It's very simple to make and involves no glue at all. All you need are 8 sheets of paper; I used four of the five colours from the 2018-2020 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. This version of patterned paper is available in all of the colour families and is perfect for quick cards or projects like this one.
Materials
8 sheets of 6" x 6" patterned paper (you could use larger or smaller sheets to make larger or smaller versions).Equipment
Just your hands, and perhaps a Bone Folder.Instructions
1. Take one sheet of paper and fold diagonally in both directions, then open flat again.2. Turn the sheet over and fold in half (to form a rectangle) in both directions. Open flat.
3. Push both sides in to form a triangle (see diagram below).
4. Lay the triangle on the table and fold the two 'arms' of the triangle into the middle using the fold line as a guide.
6. Make seven more of these pieces.
7. Slide the 'prongs' of one into another piece; fold them once they've been inserted.
8. Join all of the pieces together as above.
9. Join the last two pieces and you are done!
The piece will pivot through the middle and take different shapes, like the original 'cake', or wear it as a crown.
Simple and fun.
Happy crafting.
This is so totally adorable Ellen!! Love it! What a great way to #loveitchopit and use your Designer Series Paper.
